Welcome!
Welcome to the Commercial Driver’s
Licensing Law Website
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s
(DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
(FMCSA) and the National Judicial College (NJC) have designed
this comprehensive Web site
to help inform officers of the judiciary about the specialized
laws and regulations governing the
commercial driver’s license.
Since the commercial driver’s
license program was established by Congress in 1986, DOT has
supported many judicial educational outreach activities –
including an FMCSA-funded faculty development workshop at
NJC, located on the campus of the University of Nevada-Reno.
In the future, we will be expanding
this site to include a distance-learning version of the “Commercial
Driver’s Licensing Laws” faculty development workshop.
In the meantime, we are very interested in receiving your
comments and suggestions for improving the content of the
site. You can do so by clicking “Contact Us” on
the navigation bar.
Thank you for your interest in commercial
driver and vehicle safety.
Sincerely yours,
John H. Hill
FMCSA Administrator
